UNFORTUNATELY I WILL HAVE TO REBUILD ALL DOWNLOADS OF THIS TYPE AS SERVER MODS DO NOT WORK WITH RCBOT2 RIGHT NOW.
You can still use the below guide and however ... it requires you install a beta version and that means you cannot play on-line servers as your version will not match.
If you never play on-line for the moment you can roll back to a beta version and install the below.
Do this AT YOUR OWN RISK first....
STEP 1.
Warning - in Step 4 your game folders will be wiped out... back - up your "Day of Defeat Source" folder.
2. Right click on the day of defeat:Source icon > Properties.
3. Select "Betas"
4. In "Beta Participation" drop down and select "previous_build - Previous Build"
5. Files will download
6. After they are done you have the 32bit version...and your settings are wiped out.
7. Rebuild by pasting over your downloads, custom folders...maybe your maps folder and anything custom you did like dodcfg config.cfg and other ones like a userconfig.cfg.
8. Install the mods RCBot2 like you normally do (or read that guide below and come back, you can continue with this bit and run the game to test without mods then read the guide).
Next you... will need a desktop short cut.
9. Go to ... YOUR DRIVE and YOUR FOLDERS... steamappscommonDay of Defeat Source
10. Right click on the hl2.exe, .... Send to > Desktop (Create shortcut)
11. Right click on the desktop shortcut, select Properties.
12. In the target line, go to the end of the address, put one space past the "
Paste this in...
-game dod -insecure +maxplayers 32
13. PRESS APPLY... then OK.
Here is my address in he target line of the shortcut for reference, I have my install one a SSD Drive...
"D:SteamLibrarysteamappscommonDay of Defeat Sourcehl2.exe" -game dod -insecure
Note 1: +maxplayers can have what ever total server size you like or you can leave "+maxplayers XX" off and just select your server size in the Options > "Create Server" panel "Game" tab.
Note 2 : DO NOT make a shortcut from steam, it uses a different address than a windows shortcut... its a URL type from steam and that will not work. Make it as described in step 9 > onwards.
If you can't see a "Target" line in your shortcut... and you have a URL ... steam://rungameid/300 don't use that, return to step 9 and do a proper shortcut.
Note 3 : Play via the desktop shortcut you made... not the steam library button.

New installer. The installer now delivers RCBot2 version 1.51.
This is the most stable for dod:s,
TF2 also uses RCBot2 and that gets a lot of updates (ver 1.51 beta 2 May 2023), however for dod:s version 1.51 is the best release to use.
To stop people complaining about "the bots didn't start" I have selected the bot server size (31 bots) as a default of 32 players (full server).
RCBot2 1.51 does not put those in by default so I have edited the config.ini file.
